What's the main message?

Our spirit of exploration is the driving force behind our creativity and wisdom. It is through this spirit that we are able to break out of the limitations imposed on us by our conditioned nature, to discover how we are connected to the energies of life within this universe and beyond.

By exploring your inner being you will discover sources of wisdom that live outside the realm of your physical existence.

To start inner exploration you need to learn two fundamental things ....

The first is learning how to sense your inner being in new ways. As you develop new ways of sensing your inner being - you move towards an intimate understanding of the fundamental forces of human nature - and you may begin to sense messages of a spiritual nature - which - handled with wisdom, humility and compassion -  can help you broaden your own explorations and the explorations of others.

The second is learning how to encourage your emotional and instinctive selves to cooperate with your inner exploration. Seek ways to bring healing to the inner wounds that come from being trapped in a state of self-sustaining stress.

Fear, hate, greed, ambition, aggressiveness and destructiveness go hand in hand with self-sustaining stress - feeding each other, aggravating the fight-flight response, dulling the mind and emotions, and pushing our self-generating stress to more intense and destructive levels.

The roots of our self-sustaining stress are the powerful forces of clinging and aversion. One must learn to face these forces and explore ways to end their hold on our hearts, minds and bodies.

Clinging and aversion start at the level of DNA and shape every stage of our lives - shaping the emotions, our patterns of thought, habits, biases and beliefs. These forces determine how we react to our sensory experiences, shaping our inner being through pleasure and pain.

Our inner being develops complex layers upon layers of inner patterns, conditioning our thoughts, emotions, memories, and our perceptions. These patterns determine what we are, how we see and feel ourselves, others, our world.

Through every layer of conditioning, the winds of clinging and aversion shape how we deal with pleasure, pain, or the absence of pleasure/pain. These forces bind us to the known - we become dependent on the effects of their influences - which in turn limits our inner nature and our ability to grow spiritually.

Our spirit of exploration gives us opportunities to break away from these limitations.

To begin your journey of spiritual exploration, look within and look for the stirrings of compassion, forgiveness, generosity, healing, humility, gentleness. The seeds of these healing emotions have been planted in us by spirit and nature - to enable us to discover a mysterious unity that permeates the diversity of the universe. The act of exploring these healing emotions is enough to awaken powerful inner healing forces.

You must do this by yourself. No one can explore your inner being for you.

Share your discoveries with others and you will discover more about yourself and others. You may also discover even more about your relationship to nature, to the universe and beyond.

What's Here?

Here we share our discoveries - inspired by unusual messages that have come to us during our long journey of spiritual exploration. The core essence of these messages carry a special wisdom - either from our own inner sources of wisdom or maybe even from a spiritual source. These stirrings of wisdom occur during moments of deep meditation, inner silence and communion with nature and spirit.  Here we offer our interpretations of these subtle and complex messages.

You can also find some hints and tools for your own meditation.

Spiritual Messages?

Spiritual messages are experienced as subtle, gentle stirrings of consciousness that sometimes mysteriously appear during the most silent moments of meditation.

They are not conveyed with words, they are communicated as energies that can sometimes shape our thoughts with wisdom and spiritual meaning.

They are frequently accompanied by a sense of unity - and a mysterious and gentle sense of connection to a living presence that permeates all things.

Whenever the human mind encounters these energies of spiritual meaning, it instinctively tries to capture their meaning in words - to interpret them in terms familar to us.

There is always a chance that the intended meaning in these messages can be lost, because our mental and emotional "noise" can easily nudge our understanding away from the true direction of these messages.

So when you receive a message from what  you think might be - say for example - "God" - you should consider treating it with humility and self-criticism instead of - for example - launching a new religion.

Here you will read some of these messages - however, in this spirit of humility and self-criticism, everything you read here could be wrong, inaccurate, or misleading!

You are encouraged to find out for yourself.

True Meaning?

Is there a true meaning behind these messages? We referred to "the intended meaning in these messages" -  without questioning their origin.

Humans tend to either have faith or doubt when it comes to these spiritual messages.

However, doubt and faith go hand in hand during our spiritual exploration.

Becoming attached to any particular interpretation of events is counterproductive and dangerous, leading to the ending of your journey of exploration.

Our writings are expressions from our ongoing exploration - prone to error, misinterpretation, and likely to change as we learn more.

Yet - they appear to have some value because they provide a valuable perspective on spiritual exploration, inner healing, and enlightenment.

Spiritual Presence?

Sometimes when a spiritual message comes into consciousness, it is accompanied with the sense of a living presence that is trying to pass along it's pearls of wisdom.

Of course, many different types of processes (for example - biological, health, diet, genetic, cultural/religious conditioning) could account for this.

Becoming aware of all these influences and possibilities is part of our spiritual exploration.

In spiritual exploration we seek channels of connectivity with people, the earth, the universe, and the invisible - which often leads us to seek out energies and processes of unusual and unfamiliar nature.

Learning to discern between pearls of wisdom and deceptions of our own minds is part of this exploration.

Science and Spiritual Exploration?

Meditation is one of many ways of discovering these channels of connection.

Scientific discipline can sometimes help us shape our discoveries into something valuable.

Science provides a way of growing our knowledge based on analysis and measurement. Good science acknowledges the limitations of it's analysis and measurements.

Spiritual life grows knowledge through exploration of spiritual awareness. Good spirituality also acknowledges it's limitations and honors the fact that subtle impulses of wisdom can easily be misinterpreted.

Science and spirituality play together in some imperfect and unsatisfying way. That is one of the frustrations of free exploration.

If you ever loose this frustration and become "absolutely" convinced of some particular notion, then you can be sure that you have strayed from your journey.

If you come to believe that others must adopt your beliefs, then you have become truly lost, and a danger to yourself and others.

The Roots of Religions?

Most religions started this way:  their creators receive the most profound messages (potentially of a spiritual origin) which sparked the core teachings of the major religions - but - these messages were invariably shaped by human factors before being passed along by their teachers/leaders.

These "shapings" were formed from the cultural, social, tribal and political circumstances of the time.

Some parts of these teachings may reflect truly spiritual origins and may survive these human shapings - we may never know!

Freedom and the Human Spirit of Exploration?

It is vital for us to engage in our own spiritual exploration, and with a few guidelines you can begin to walk your own spiritual journey ... with faith in the value of personal spiritual exploration, and with hope that you will make your own personal spiritual discoveries, you may discover an unprecedented freedom from the dangers, dogma and errors of the established religions.

The Need for Positive Emotion?

Above all - compassion, gentleness, forgiveness, and humility are essential because they provide healing for the scars left by fear, hate and greed.

Gentleness and compassion also prevent you from loosing touch with the gentle, compassionate nature of these spiritual messages.

With some luck, they may also prevent you from loosing touch with reality.

Positive emotions also tend to keep you grounded in fairness and decency.

To protect your intellect and moderate your ego - you also need to understand the limitations of knowing and belief.

To help others learn how to heal themselves, you should consider studying and teaching the healing powers of compassion, gentleness, forgiveness and humility - pointing out the ignorance and destructiveness of those who manipulate and indulge in fear, hate and greed.
