How to use ......

Download file - recommend that you copy the sound file to your iPod, MP3 player or to a blank CD and play it on a good CD player ... or play it on a system with a good sound card ... because these sounds work better when played very quietly and cheap sound systems might generate a lot of interfering sounds at low volumes....
Use stereo headphones - not loud !!! In fact, it should be barely audible for best effect. If you play it too loud, it might only give you a headache!!

Also - do not use bass boost - set you audio system to flat spectrum - otherwise the effect might get lost through distorted frequency response

Sit or lie down. Close your eyes. Make sure you are in a quiet place - free of any disturbances.

Start by being attentive to your breathing - note the shallowness or depth of your breathing - then breath a little deeper and slower - but without forcing too much - you will find that your mind begins to wander - let this happen - let your attention drift away from your breathing - tell yourself you are getting heavier and warmer and its OK to let go .....

After settling down in this way for a couple of minutes - turn on the sound - and initially be attentive to the sound - but let your mind drift after a while.

There's no need for the sound to be on all the time. Experiment with turning the sound off during this process. Try it for just a few seconds.

What volume level should you use? The following might give you an idea about how quietly you can play this sound file ..... If you were able to copy the sound file to an mp3 player or a CD, turn the volume all the way to zero. Next - start playing the sound file. Then turn the volume up very slightly until you start to hear a slight sound. Dont turn the volume up any further - if possible turn it down slightly.

If there are many distracting noises around you (traffic, etc) then you should try using higher volume levels. Very high volume levels are not conducive to relaxation - so be gentle.

No need to concentrate on the sound - just rest.

Sound file lasts up to 16 minutes.

It is possible that you will fall asleep. Many users of these kinds of sound files do report falling asleep. Sleep is your body's way of healing stresses. If your body has a strong need to deal with some stresses - then you will fall asleep. Sometimes, these kinds of sound files will do nothing for you - especially if you have many social, business or other pressing issues in your mind. Otherwise - you will (sometimes) enter a healing and restful state of awareness.
