The Real Secret
Knowledge and belief are limited.
To realize the limitations of knowledge is a necessary step on the journey of enlightenment.
To end our attachment to belief is necessary for spiritual discovery.
Knowledge is the outcome of exploration - it is the fruit of the tree of life.
To cling to knowledge ends exploration. To create knowledge means you are on a journey of exploration.
Many of us hold the belief that we only need to learn about the known. This belief stifles discovery, as does clinging to any belief or knowledge.
When you encounter this clinging in yourself or others, explore ways to end it, guided by compassion, forgiveness, generosity, humility.
Don't surrender to the pressure to acquire facts or adopt a belief system. This is memorization and conditioning - this is clinging to ideas - it clouds the spirit.
Seek instead to learn how to explore, discover, to create and share new knowledge from your explorations.
Look at old knowledge and beliefs as records of discoveries from other's explorations - do not cling to them - they are always incomplete, limited, never perfect, always tentative.
If you see the value of this insight, then find your own way to pass this insight to others.
When we end even a little bit of clinging to knowledge and belief, we create opportunities to bring balance and a practical peace to our souls and to this earth.
With enough of these opportunities, we learn to guide our activities from a place of wisdom, compassion, generosity, humility - instead of building living nightmares from our fear, hate and greed.
